How to do an “Internal Standup”
1. Breathe space
Take some breaths to create space outside and inside.
2. What did I accomplish yesterday?
Celebrate wins and take note of any follow-ups.
3. What am I committing to today?
List my priorities for today, and capture any other thoughts in a separate backlog.
4. What are my blockers?
Is there anything I need from other people to make progress? List those and notify them.
Do I have any parts with thoughts, feelings, or beliefs that could hijack my plans. Connect with them and let them know what I need from them today.
5. What do my parts need from me?
- Check-in with my parts. See who is showing up right now, or who I think might show up today.
- Ask them what they need from my best self so that they can relax and let me lead.
- List out any commitments.
6. Gratitude & Get after it!
Thank my team for showing up today and making a plan.
